General Information

What is Winter Chautauqua?

Offering self improvement through life-long learning, a “Chautauqua” is a gathering of people bringing education and enrichment with speakers, teachers, entertainments and specialists of the day. Winter Chautauqua has been held for over 25 years in the North Georgia Mountains and has come to serve the region’s travel and tourism community as a font of information and hands on learning about the latest developments in hospitality industry promotion.

Topic?
This year’s Winter Chautauqua is focusing on the Georgia film industry and how local communities, small businesses and destinations can benefit from the multi-million dollar infusion the entertainment industry has brought to our state. Attendees will learn how to participate in Georgia’s Camera Ready program, what to do to enhance their participation in the program, how to work with film scouts and production companies and most importantly, how to capitalize on a film project before, during and after it has wrapped production.
